Head Of Falls River Walk

Head of Falls Park in Waterville, Maine, is steeped in history.
It was first inhabited by the Canibas tribe.
The area was once known as Teconnet Falls.
A major trading village was located there until its destruction in 1692.
In the 1800s, it was developed into an industrial site.
Water-powered mills and the Waterville Iron Works were established.
The site was cleared during urban renewal in the 1960s.
After that, it was largely neglected for decades.
Revitalization efforts were launched in the early 2000s.
Infrastructure was improved, and Two Cent Plaza was added.
Today, it is used as a public gathering space.
The Two Cent Bridge remains a key historic feature.
